For the first time in i don't know how long, we elected a completely republican government, and tho the spending went out the fuckin window, and everybody seems to wanna hang bush by the nutsack, it wasn't all bad...the economy's doing well, we've had more job growth than in the last 40 years, and unemployment is at an all time low. Now, it seems we're gonna try the democrats...my question to you, the all-seeing, all-knowing bs artists and posters, is do you really think they will do anything different or better?
My contention is that we should never empower one party with the entire administration. if we have an almost equal split between the 2, (and i further contend only having 2 parties sucks), then it makes for a better check and balance. Personally, i think it would serve the american people much better if when we elect our politicians, then they get busted for underhanded dealings, or make enormous mistakes that cause the american people their lives and livelyhoods, then they should be publicly strapped, caned, whooped and humiliated. Yes, even the pres.... Can you just imagine if we held the politicians to the same or higher standards as we hold each other and ourselves?

There will be very little difference. The language used by the two major parties is designed to give the appearance of a great idealogical divide between the left and the right. But to be honest, most politicians are just left or just right of center. The only real difference is that we will no longer have a politcal system that caters specifically to christians (hopefully).

Why do we even have political parties? Instead of comforming to a parties view, why not just have our own? Also, why the hell do they call it parties, those stick in the mud folks wouldn't know a party unless it kept them from sleeping and they called the cops.

I think you just kind of have to go with whichever one is closest. I tell people I'm an anarcho-syndicalist, but to be honest I'm really somewhere between anarchist and libertarian.

Don't count on it. Dennis Kucinich is Catholic. :D (albeit his only chance of even getting nominated is to murder his opposition)

I like Dennis Kucinich though, he's a real hippie who wants to end the war on drugs and do away with the PATRIOT act. Not only that but he's pro-life but doesn't believe making it illegal will solve the problem.

Ever since I saw something like "except the government defines terrorist as anyone to the left of Ann Coulter" in some rant, I've been using the expression "anyone to the left of Ann Coulter" a lot. In reality I don't think it's a left or right issue. The same bullshit comes from either side. Yes, they're keeping an eye on those tofu eaters over at PETA, but they've also got spies on the Catholics and Quakers too.
