The FOOD, man! You can't beat it. A country whose foundation for cooking is Chicken, Pasta & Cheese is downright heavenly.

Italian food is the freaking worst.....I am italian and growing up around that shit has, I figure, turned me against it.

What kind of bad restaurants have you been eating at? All the same, Italian food is one of the worst of a bad lot for cholesterol and triglycerides, so it's probably best you don't like it. Me, the doctors about have to pry me away from fetuccini alfredo with a crowbar.
