I am so mad about this i could scream. I hate companies that take forever to get your w2 to you. I am still waiting on two of them so i can get my taxes done and out of the damn way. I think by law they should have them ready by the 15th of Jan. not the 31st. It is just a pain in the butt watching and waiting for the mail. The government wants their money fast but most companies make their employees wait forever and a day for a slip of paper.
It just friggin drives me bonkers. Being a mom of five there is the issue of other paper work that can only be done after the taxes are filed. Mainly my oldest college for the coming year paper work. Which is due by the tenth of Feb. I swear i just wanna scream at the moment.

hahaha.....pisses me off too. I'm still waiting on two 1099's. Not that I'm in a hurry to file taxes. Now that I don't have anymore kids, me and hubby are going to be paying taxes AGAIN this year. I should have bought a new van for the business at the end of the year, but NO he wanted to hold on to the money.

Damn companies, don't pay shit, and when a worker can finally get a nice break with a tax refund check, they take forever to send the paperwork for it.

Its just another way the Government imposes another hidden tax on you. Buy waiting for a full month, they get to keep your interest on the amount you have coming back.:p

Well i am still waiting on one more and whats ironic is that this particular company is a locally owned and operated they should have had our w2s out on the 31st of Jan and i am still sitting here waiting for it i should have told him hey hold the sucker ill drive the 4 miles to get it. It seems like it would have been much faster then waiting on the mail. I am going to call them later today and ask if they even sent them out yet if they didn't i am going to call and bitch to the IRS this is just friggin stupid

It's the old "Checks in the Mail Game". However, according to the IRS if you haven't received your W-2 by 14 February you should call and report that information at 1 800 829-1040.
You will need your employers name, address, city, state and zip code.
Also, you will need your name, address, city, state, zip code and ssn #.
In addition, you may file your return "Without a W-2 by using form 4852, which can be downloaded from the IRS Website. Your last pay voucher should supply the necessary information.
It may be possible, if you confront and ask your employer to present you with a copy of your W-2 proir to your filing of a form 4852. Informing them in a polite mannor that if you have to file a form 4852 you can't be held responsible for anytype of action the IRS takes toward their firm.
Hope this may shed some light and everything works out for you. Good-Luck.

Thanks ape it did.
I called them yesterday and they supposedly sent it to my aunts house. Why i am not sure because i only worked with them for 2 weeks before moving to my house. Long story short i got it last night. I am not getting all that much back but i am getting a little bit. I seem always to manage to get just enough to pay off some bills and live for a few months out of the red. I guess that's how it goes when you have kids
