I was wondering who your favorite TV Evangelist was. Have to admit, they are somewhat a hoot to watch. My favorite so far is the one named "Benny Hinn." He is the guy who pulls off his jacket and waves it over the crowd on his stage and they all "fall down because of his spiritual power."

dont know what to make of tv evangelists
It really bothers me though. If someone wants to hear a good sermon, it should'nt be on the televison. I dont think its as effective a tool. Many tv evangelists are also complete bull. They dont even use scripture to back their claims. Although some do, but not the majority. ARG!! I hate it when they talk about miracles, and how if you pray hard enough you'll get one...and if you don't get one then you're messing up. Ok for one thing. Being a follower of Christ does not mean that you will have miracles out the wazoo happening. Christianity has little to do with God doing miracles for us. We are to serve Him. That's the part alot of people don't want to be a part of. Anyhow... Im going off on a tangent. Sorry. My point simply was... These people are not real. Don't think that's how Christianity is... because it ain't

Only a mindless twit judges the whole by the one. Your point is well taken. ;)

The people on these TV evangelists are absurd, yet clever in a way. They realize that people will send in money to these so called religious funds in order to be saved or something similar to that. They're almost as bad as these people: http://www.landoverbaptist.org/. This is religion gone wrong.

Are you kidding me? Does this chruch actually exist?? I read through a few things in their website, and it sounds horrible, especially in the ways they contradict their own totalitarian beliefs. This particular page says it all:
http://www.landoverbaptist.org/news0100/unsaved.html
I mean...comparing and treating a convicted racist and blood thirsty gang members equally to the mentally ill or people who SMELL???? Yet they preach that they are following the bible to the letter --->especially the ten commandments.....Number 8....Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness Against Thy Neighbor. This includes gossip, lying, defamation of character, slander and generally hating your neighbor. Definately one commandment this self-righteous group needs to work on.

I really don't even know if I believe if it's a real thing or not. The site seems so radical that it seems that it's hoax or something, but for this degree of a hoax, the people who would update the site have a lot of work to do. But yeah, almost everything they say is very contradictory of what I'm familiar with in christian beliefs. Though, if they say they follow the Bible for word, they would lead very contradictory lives as the Bible is full of them. Oh, and if you want even more of a shocker, check out the forums. When I was browsing through some of them, I found them discussing about owning slaves.

I have to agree with that last statement. I go to church and I see that happening all the time. It makes me sick to be honest. Funny thing is when you point the finger at someone else you have three pointed right back at you. Who are you? Do you gossip? Do you lye? Do you vent about people that are hard to deal with? Do you hate people? I am not perfect, going to church simply helps me to remember that, and bare witness to the effects these things have on people. All people want is to feel forgiveness, love and purpose in life. It's real easy to point the finger, it's not so easy to take action to make things better. Pointing the finger does nothing. I simply want to make a difference by example and by confrontation.
