I thought it was pretty fucking childish. I think that you should look in a mirror to see if you are an adult.

I don't agree with the General's or AJK's way of thinking. However, I don't ridicule or try to demean them for what they believe in.

I give them credit. They both STAND UP for what they think is right! Wether or not right or wrong they both stand fast to their beliefs. Perhaps one day they will see things different or perhaps one day we will see things in a different way. Sure, I've teased them and Bull-Shitted them as most of us have. But they are people and they have feelings.

Nevertheless, "In My Opinion" (speaking only for myself), It's ok for people to dissagree on any subject matter given. However, when someone goes to the extreams to try and degrade another because of what he believes in with jibberish cartoons. To me, that shows a lack of maturity and is conceived as dirty fighting in the social world. Those with somewhat of an education understands what I am talking about.

Think about it people. There again, you may not agree with my way of thinking..............but that's just me and that's ok too. Cause I do respect what other people have to say no matter who you are. Might not give a shit, but will respect it.

Unfortunately, I'm gonna have to disagree with you, ape. I don't think that standing up for what you believe is always a good thing. We teach that it is a virtue, but what if the things you are standing up for is the belief that it is ok to "own" your wife and do as you please with her, as some muslims believe. In Iran, a husband has legal custody of his wife. And Iran is one of the more progressive middle eastern countries. I look at General's Bible and I see a lot of writings that promote violence and intolerance, things that I don't thik have any place in the world. Why would I applaud someone for standing up for their right to destroy the enemies of THEIR god???

Just a thought.

Thats no problem, your opinion is quite welcome.

[QUOTE I don't think that standing up for what you believe is always a good thing. ]
You are 100% correct. That was proven at the Alamo.

[QUOTE We teach that it is a virtue, but what if the things you are standing up for is the belief that it is ok to "own" your wife and do as you please with her, as some muslims believe. If that is what happens in Iran, so be it. We also have rules and laws here in America as well.

[QUOTE I look at General's Bible and I see a lot of writings that promote violence and intolerance, things that I don't thik have any place in the world. QUOTE]
I sure that is true in your mind and is that of your opinion. General probably feels simular towards the muslem religion. (don't know for sure, but would guess).

[QUOTE Why would I applaud someone for standing up for their right to destroy the enemies of THEIR god???QUOTE]
Only you can answer that question. As for the General, I personnaly don't think he is trying to destroy anything ( I could be wrong).

[Quote Just a thought.

And a very good one at that. perhaps what I was trying to relate to is the fact that we already have too much religious bashing back and forth between those with religious views and those without. I myself could care less of what or who you believe in as well as that to the General and many others.

If you believe that people like the General and Christians are enemies of your religion, then to you and in your mind....that is so. Nothing could change your mind.

I (personal opinion) respect the fact that you take a stand to defend your point of view concerning your beliefs. I also, respect that of others as well Who's right? Who's wrong? If you ask me, I would say both of you are wrong, but thats just my opinion and I could be wrong.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I (my opinion) respect the person and the persons actions and not necessarily his/her beliefs. But I feel it is not warranted to bash or trash you for what you believe in.

Just my Opinion, thats all.

ps: I like everybody...including Mr. Jim:p

Exceptions to this are increasingly rare. Nowadays it seems basically every sitcom made is just like the next one, except with different idiosyncrasies based on the background of the cast members. There are a few good ones at a given time, though. That 70's Show was unique though in that it was so bad it brought people down to its level. :D

Bad day TV is a problem. You watch day TV and get so bored that you only watch the shows that are Really good at nights, so the shows that drops public, sends on the day, wich makes you more bored, and quit watching more shows on the nights, that goes on the daytime instead...It's a never ending circle, and soon will ALL TV be day TV

I dunno, typical lifestyles tell networks what to put on TV. Daytime TV is either for men working nights or stay-at-home housewives. Since there aren't enough night-shift men out there, a low-budget court show should be sufficient to stimulate their minds from the network's view. And of course the women get all their soap-operas and talk shows.

Then afternoon comes along, kids get home from school, cartoons come on, more adults start coming home from work, so here comes the news and game shows, then prime time they have to be clever enough to show something that appeals to the whole family.

The problem with prime-time TV is that virtually EVERY situation to write about in a situation comedy has already been done. So lack of interest in repetitive comedy has forced the networks to trim their budgets and show a vast variety of reality-tv and catchy game-shows. So the sitcom heyday of the 50's through early 90's has run it's course and is being replaced, which I think is sad, but it's happened. At least animated comedies like The Simpsons, King of the Hill, and Family Guy still have a crowd.

Damn that was a bit rambly, sorry....

I agree with your post, but I don't think it's the end of the line as far as original sitcoms go. Granted it's a little harder to be original, but ask 100 people if their lives would make good and original sitcoms. I'll bet 30 say yes. Of the other 70, 30 probably have lives that would make good sitcoms but they've already been done in M*A*S*H or Home Improvement or something. They just don't want to put the effort into something if its only purpose is to fill time in between commercials.

I still think the plots are all formulaic. In almost all sitcoms, someone buys a crappy car, tries to win over a girl/boy that don't like them, has a wacky neighbor that provides comic relief, complains about their job, invents something that backfires, has amnesia and has to be reminded of who they are.... etc. Only difference is the general personality of the characters and how they get along with each others' personalities. So, we just continue to re-write the same ol' slapstick with, say, a plumber, a business executive, a garbageman, a talk show host, a red-head, a brunette, a lesbian, a gay guy, a hippie, a republican.... infinite possibilities of character mix with same old plots.

Bin Laden talks that way in that episode, actually. yeah I love their work too, I was just surprised that they stereotype languages in their movies and in south park, using made up words and approximate sounds, but they went for authentic with the Farsi and got native speakers to do the voices....seems odd for those two.
