Did you know that children who play some type of musical instrument far surpasses the learning capacity of the children who didn't? So for all those who have Musical Talents , please let them be known.:D

I have played the guitar for something like 16 years now, I excell in many styles, but alas, mostly I have played with myself. I have been in a few bands, but drugs and women have always torn them apart. I also play bass pretty well, I play it like it's a percussion instrument...LOVE PRIMUS. I play the drums a little bit, can sing some, not great, and I know a few Paula Abdul songs on the banjo (I'm serious), picked up a Mel Bay banjo chord book, and the order that they teach the chords just happens to correspond to an Abdul classic, so I learned some crappy pop songs on a bluegrass machine. My dad, both of my brothers and a lot of my friends have recorded albums, mostly small scale. I have recorded some stuff but I'm very private about it. My father in-law is from Iran and he plays the santur, and he has this instrument called a Tar about the size of a banjo, but made from a single piece of knotty wood. It's WAY kool, but the strings are sharp as hell.

I played the clarinet from 4th grade to 12th grade as did my mother. My son plays the piano, drums. My other son writes and sings (though he thinks he can't) he's pretty good at the guitar.

I play with my meat flute...does that count?
I'm trying to figure out this dang guitar thingy, broke my high E today too (I think that's the skinny one LOL). That scared the shit outta me, just strumming along and fwink, this silver thread comes winging at my face. I can't bar chords worth poop, but I'm still chugging along...

I play guitar, bass, and keyboard. And now that I'm out of a job I might as well take the opportunity to play more. :D

No. The meat or skin flute is not considered a musical instrument even though it is used in making music. Nice Try.:p

I played guitar in a band between the ages of 15 and 21. Mainly we played covers of anything from The Clash to the Foo Fighters and a few songs of our own. We weren't particularly good but we had a great time.
The band finished in 2000 when our Bass player died. I haven't picked the guitar up since.
RIP Dave Allen.

Wow.! I also played in a traveling band a few years back. TM was correct about the women and drugs. I had to leave because of that, not the women but the drugs.
We also lost our drummer to drugs. Still miss the dude. (Monte Osborn)
Now like you, the only thing I pick is my nose or an occasional G-String.:(

Sure I can play it, but I quit taking lessons because it took to much of my time. And, it wasn't so fun after 5-6 years.

OK Dude, What kinda Axe you holding? Have you ever played in front of an audience? I soloed one time in front of approximately 3,000. For small time, that was pretty cool.:D

LOL, I preformed movement's to an audience of 15000 to 20000 for the CG. Nothing worse then trying to keep in step and having the flag fly into your face, you can't tell if your walking straight or not, and you gotta still look like you know what you are doing! Discipline baby pure and simple

I sold my Fender on ebay. Currently picking my nose and playing the radio. Played Gibson, Fender, Gretsch and Les Paul, (which are made by Gibson) Yamaha, Yamaha 12 string , Ovation, Silvertone and Harmony, along with others.
Looking at a Yamaha Acoustic just to fart around on. Hey, was that Santur you spoke of earlier the same instrument that George Harrison played?
