As a loser with no friends (just kiddin'), I enjoy living my life vicariously through music. Well lately it seems  What happend? Rap isnt music...more like nursery ryhmes in ebonics if I wanted to hear a buncha gangsters raping the english language id go to compton.
Basically, im saying we need a new nirvana. not the same music but yet the same impact on music in a positive way. Maybe an angry chick..how long has it been since we've had a angry chick rocker?
I'm tired of this shit on the radio...tired of these fucking assholes who rape original punk to make a few dollars i.e simple plan...im going to kill you!
Is rock fucking dead? Should i give up? Do you think there is some ratty kids in a basement right now who are destined to be the real deal. I sure hope so. im honestly fed up with this crap, get your fucking act together.

Dude, stop bitching and put yourself out there. All genres have shit music, and it is being increasingly played on the radio, so go find good music.

Well then, dont listen to it. Just go buy all the good old cd's and just listen to them. Download them from iTunes or some free software. Ignore all the other shit. It'll all fade away. Go find this song, "Chickenshit Conformist" by the Dead Kennedys. Damn Good.

If rock and metal die, music dies. Because what we would be left with would be - 70% (c)rap, 25% corporate manufactured pop bullshit, and 5% other stuff like emo and such, and people simply couldnt take it anymore and forget about music. thus begins the death of the music industry.

Okay, metal is horrible. It's just a bunch of idiots screaming into a microphone that's half a millimeter away from their lips playing a bunch of senseless chords however they please. And then the people who actually like this stuff feel that it needs to be turned up to full volume! I have to agree with you on the rap shit, but for the most part all of the other music genres have something enjoyable about them. Even if they all die though, something will inevitably step in and take its place. Human kind would never allow their radios to output only that NPR bullshit.

Just ignore it all until it kills someone close to you.

I must agree with you in regards to the radio. However, the assumption that music is going downhill is greatly incorrrect. (Or at least in my honest opinion.) You simply have to look for it. I too hate pop and mainstream overplayed crap.
Check out the new Tool album, buy some RHCP or Coheed and Cambria's CDs. There's always the Mars Volta, System of a Down, Orgy, Our Lady Peace, Incubus, APC, At the Drive-in, Nine Inch Nails and so on. Some of the songs that these bands sing will simply blow your mind with their climaxes. Then again you may have a complete contrast in interests from my tastes.
Hope you fix your problem because there really are incredible bands out there right now.

I'm sorry, but I do believe you named some of today's "mainstream overplayed crap", most of which sound like shit.

I respect your opinion, however I have a hard time buying into your claim that I listed some of the overplayed crap. I agree that MANY the radio singles by these bands are horrible. Take Coheed and Cambria's single "The Suffering" for example. Garbage.
If you've actually listened to all the songs that aren't on the radio, however, then I suppose you have the right to say its crap. But if your going ONLY whats on the radio then it means little, because to me nothing good comes from what everyone hears. Hell if you can honestly listen to the new Tool album and say every song sucks, then the problem is more our music tastes are on opposing spectrums.

I agree with your last statement. I have heard most of the C & C songs on one of their cd's and I didnt like any of it. I've heard a few things of Mars Volta and I'm annoyed by them also. I have a problem with SOAD and a few of the others. Look deeper into genres and find bands that are never played on the radio, nor have top selling albums. I suggest Bad Religion, T.S.O.L., Anti-Flag, Cigar, Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat, Minutemen, NOFX, Operation Ivy, Suicide Machines, and the Vandals.
