See, that and the moving sidewalks I think are just there to accelerate you as you walk normally. So if it takes you 20 seconds to get up the stairs, it'll take you ten on an escalator.

I don't really know what to say about grinding gears! I am the owner of a truck with an automatic transmission and my work truck is the same. I used to own stick so I would have to say a slippery clutch would grind my gears then, quite literally I think.

It really grinds my gears when I'm trying to get where I'm going in a hurry and people standing on escalators won't move the fuck out the way. Try just standing there in Washington DC. It's actually common knowledge in DC if you aren't going to walk up the escalator, then you stand on the right side. People walking or running up them go on the left side.
