View Full Version : Religion, Abortion, and Guns

Everyday we read the same bullshit over and over again. I for one don't give a rat's ass (that's right I said it. I'm from the south) debating over the same shit everyday.
Everyone should just be happy and satisfied that we live in a country where if you want to have a religion you can, if you don't that's okay too. A country where women have the choice to choose what they want with their bodies. A country where we can defend ourselves if we so choose. If you don't want to own a gun you don't have to. For those of you who don't live in the United States, more power to you. For those of you who live in the United States, if you don't like the way things are, then get the fuck out.
There isn't one single person on this forum who if they went to another foreign country and voiced their beliefs, they'd kill your ass, or imprison you. I know there are countries as soon as I stepped off the plane they'd say, "Behead that woman."
Can't we come up with a better thread to post other then the same bullshit. (I know, this is BULLSHIT.COM) I would like to talk about something other then these three topics.
If anyone wants to debate this post, It's not up for discussion.

How about better education for our children, or maybe ways of improving our economy, or ways to clean up the earth. Or who are we voting for in the 2008 election. Anything other then the same bullshit.

In regards to abortion my issue is simply this: Why should we be satifised letting this happen, when in doing so we have lost an entire generation? Since 1973 (when Roe vs. Wade passed) we have lost through abortion over 43 million lives. 43 million! These people did nothing wrong except to exist, and we just go right ahead and kill them. Is that not discrimination?
Having said all that, it's not too hard to figure out just why we have shortages of this occupation and that occupation in the world. We've done it to ourselves.

Look I will not silence myself. If you don't want to hear it you don't have to, but it doesn't mean I'm just going to shut up and sit in the corner. If I have a take on something nothing is going to stop me from saying it.

In order to find solutions to any of the above, we need to identify the source of the problem. Frankly, better education for children, should begin with better education of their parents. We also need to define common ground, of what a good education is. If everyone thinks differently about what a good education is, then it will just be another messy discussion. starry123nights, any ideas or initial input?
Peace :)
Incidentally, as far as wanting to talk about other things, I understand that. The thing you have to understand is that topics such as abortion and religion are hot topics these days, and as such are going to come up. If you don't like it, then don't read the posts. No one is holding a gun to your head forcing you to read about it. You can make posts about whatever you want, but don't try and silence someone else just because you don't like hearing about the same thing all the time. As I said if you don't want to hear it, then don't read it.

AJK is alright. He never said anything to offend anybody. He is merely stating his own opinion.
I believe it would be much better to discuss issues than act like little kids and insult others. :)
Peace, God Bless.

That's not so. He's like a yapping dog in the night. People get tired of hearing it yell. Some even find it offensive, I for one.
In addition, some people do not like the terminology "God Bless". It is offensive by nature of pushing religious views on to others. Similar to Christmas Tree or a Holiday Tree, Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays etc. And who's god are we talking about anyway. Every religion has their own and each will say that theirs is the only god. sounds like Bullshit to me.
Now with that being said, I'm not going to waste any more of my time discussing this type of Bullshit.
May the Fleas of a Thousand Camels infest your bed tonight...!:p

If it makes you feel any better, I won't say "God Bless" anymore. :) Afterall, we are here to make friends not enemies. Agree? :)

Better education for children? How bout a switch? Discipline amongst youngsters is dismal at best, and when they feel they can get away with it learning takes a back seat to any form of fun. (I seen some chick get hauled away by the cops a few years back for smacking her kid in public.....that's bullshit)
Cleaning the earth? The earth will eventually clean itself, we just need to stop polluting it for this to happen. I for one will not stop polluting, it's too damn much fun, but that's your answer.
Who are we voting for in 08? Well, don't you know that's one of the 2 no no's of discussion Politics and Religion? Unfortunately my generation doesn't have a JFK or someone who was radical in their ideas to bring this country together and try and make it even greater. Hilary is a man damn it!

I think that's not only true of younger people, but even of some adults.

discipline is only one facet of the problem...personal responsibility isn't even figured into the equation anymore...parents sit their kids in front of the tv, video game, dvd, vcr, etc so they don't have to deal with em...or they hand em off to total strangers while they go out and have a good time....they don't get involved with their kids, and they don't discuss things with them...
as for hillary?! (urp) dammit, they need a puking smiley on here...she's already been reported as a bitch from hell in several books that i know of...violent towards the help, arrogant and combative as well....she claims she has never supported the war, but i remember several speeches where she repeated all of the same "intelligence" that her hubby, kerry, and bush were talking about...

Yeah, but that's no reason to hijack a thread to discuss it. We can debate abortion in the other 100 threads regarding it.

Let's see we have a number of people who speak here that would probably disagree a bit.
Ausinus, in Australia is that the way it is?
England Expects, will they kill or imprison you in England for speaking your mind?
Something? What is the tolerance level like in your country?
Look I'm not saying that there aren't some screwed up countries out there, and this one has some really great features, but that is no reason to cut it down at the status quo...we should try to improve our home.
If you don't like the threads about abortion and gods and guns etc. then don't read 'em, and dignify them with a response.

Ignoring the maniac...he missed the point of the thread. Him and his only quoting what he likes...grrrrrrr....anyway, back to education for our children. I agree with people on the thread that it has to do with the parents also. It does start at home. I also think teachers need to be paid higher wages. I think we need more funding for our schools. I would be willing to spend my tax dollars on our children. Build more schools. Where I live we have one high school. We really need three. There is not enough money in the budget for our kids to have summer school. So if you fail a class...tough shit you can't make it up til the next year. We also don't have any night school. There are so many kids packed into one classroom. So if it means taking more of our tax dollars to help them, I would vote for that.

When I quote EVERYTHING people say they complain that I'm "picky"...when I quote only the relevant portions they complain that they're being censored....What EXACTLY was it that I didn't respond to to your satisfaction? I'll get right on it?

Well then I have a dismal picture to paint. Utah's classrooms are among the most crowded in the nation and we are the least funded school system in the Union (that MAY even include Puerto Rico). Anyway, Mormons run EVERYTHING here and if you're a kid going to school and you DON'T believe in their foolishness you get made fun of etc, I don't want my kid to be marginalized because I have taught her to think rationally. That isn't fair. So maybe I'll send her to a private school, or maybe we'll move. This state is beautiful, and if you are an outdoors oriented person it's fantastic. But the infrastructure is ludicrous.

I have, but I'd like my child to get some perspectives besides just mine and her mother's. Diversity is a great thing. SO is being challenged by opposite views, that's how you really learn what you believe, through challenge.

We have been home schooling for years. It has its advantages and disadvantages. One advantage is that your kid doesn't end up being a "clone" that just thinks like everybody else, and ends up just accepting the status quo...
The important part is to get the children involved in more than just sitting at home - whether it's sports, some kind of club, other activities, whatever.

I don't think that is true. He becomes a clone of you, instead of a mix of the hundreds of kids he goes to school with. How is the influence of my limited life experience, and my wife's life experience going to compare to the diversity a child can pick up in a school surrounded by peers? I don't know, my baby is only 6 mos, so as far as parenting goes I have a lot to learn, definitely have entertained the idea of home schooling, but I think private school is the superior choice.

Yeah I should have read this part before I typed that previous response. My bad. Looks like you have your bases covered. Good job!
