Idaho pro Brandon Palaniuk arrived home from Bull Shoals Lake, Ark., just in time for Mother's Day, and his mom surprised him with this "sweet" sign congratulating him on his first Elite Series win.

That's right, the 2010 Collegiate World Champion won his first Bassmaster Elite victory a few weeks ago. When he returned home to Idaho, yes Virginia, Idaho. I know it's NOT a bass fishing Mecca, but something got in the 23 year olds water at some point. This guy can fish for those little green fish as well as the Bronzebacks.

This kid still sleeps in his truck at all the events. Even the one he fished after winning.

When he went home, this is what he saw. Now his Mom is a character as evidenced by her phone call with him while Brandon was on stage after winning at Bull Shoals Lake, Arkansas. She was congratulating him and carrying on as a proud Mom will do and she stopped, and asked, "Have you been taking your medicine?" He kind of stuttered and said, No Mom, I haven't as I have been busy and forgot. (I think those were the words.) He told her he would with an embarrassed look on his face. But back to his Mom, she made a welcome home sign for him.

Congrats Brandon it starts out..........A "Sweet" sign for sure in many ways.
