The educational system of Texas has been on a path on innovations and expansions since the last few years. Improvement of curriculum, increased support for students, more funds for schools and due recognition for Texas Teachers (http://excellenceintheclassroom.com/) are just a few of the techniques that have been tried and tested in Texas with outstanding results.

Awarding Texas teachers with special nominations has been on the rise in the past few years. The ‘Texas Teacher of the Year’ is the highest honor that the State of Texas bestows upon a teacher. Conducted by the Texas Education Agency, the Texas Teacher of the Year program annually recognizes and rewards teachers who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and excellence in teaching.

Forty Texas teachers – two from each Regional Education Service Center – are eligible for two titles, Texas elementary Teacher of the Year and Texas Secondary Teacher of the Year.

The Texas Teachers (http://excellenceintheclassroom.com/) of the year become spokespersons for public education and are honored at a special ceremony in Austin. The Texas Teacher of the Year, a dedicated and highly skilled candidate who is capable of inspiring students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn, becomes a candidate for National Teacher of the Year honors.

Yay for the educational system in Texas. I can't think of a better idea than teaching, for 8 months out of 9, how to successfully pass a TASK test so that one can graduate.

Sincerely,

It kind of looks like spam to me, but I can't tell what's being spammed. Either way, yes, congrats to Texas teachers. Glad the system is working. My wife will be one soon.

Sorry but I have to say this : FUCK TEXAN BUREAUCRACY!

I really love Texas (especially Dallas) but the bureaucratic system sucks!

I had to jump through MAJOR hoops and pay over $400 to get a license to teach and even then they only gave me a temporary license. Texas claims to be in DIRE need of teachers. I have taught for 9 years, hold a BS and an MS in Biology... what the fuck is going on?

My partner is a broker. There is NO RECIPROCITY! He would have to take his classes and tests all over again just to become a Realtor, then serve for 3 years while taking Broker classes then take his tests over just to become a Broker..... when he already is a Broker in DC, MD, VA and GA.... TX SUCKS!

You don’t have to tell me about how bad it sucks trying to get a teaching degree, my wife has already given me every explicit detail about how hard she has had it. I can’t imagine why anyone would want to go to school for that many years and take on so much debt to earn $40k a year. But hey, that’s what she wanted to do, so I’m proud of her for having that much stamina. Nonetheless, I HOPE Texas is in dire need of teachers as both you and she have said. Less competition and more pay? Fuck yea!
